Mahrm

A "mahram" is a person with whom marriage is prohibited, and therefore, there is no sexual or romantic attraction between them. For example, a woman's father, brother, son, grandfather, and other male relatives from her paternal and maternal sides are considered mahrams. Similarly, a man's mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and other female relatives from his paternal and maternal sides are considered mahrams. Mahrams are allowed to see and touch each other without any restrictions.

Namahrm

On the other hand, a "non-mahram" (or "na-mahram") is a person with whom marriage is permissible, and therefore, there is a risk of sexual or romantic attraction between them. For example, a woman's male cousins, uncles, and in-laws are considered non-mahrams, as are all men who are not blood relatives. Similarly, a man's female cousins, aunts, and in-laws are considered non-mahrams, as are all women who are not blood relatives. Islam prohibits non-mahrams from seeing or touching each other in certain ways to prevent any temptation or wrongdoing.
